1st Climb

Last night while I was folding the wash and trying to put it away Jack decided to be a BIG helper and climbed right on in to help. Not so much helping getting the clothes in the drawer as much as getting them out.
He was ankle deep in helping, right in his sisters bottom drawer. I wasn't able to catch him in the act of throwing the clothes out, but there were socks and shirts flying all around.
Caught trying to get into the cupboard as well, thank goodness he isn't strong enough, yet.

Out for the week

So it is official the older girls are out for this week with their Dad. So Heidi and I will be going it alone until our beloved nanny comes home this coming week. Looking forward to the wonderful weather which should take us outside and on small outings if the children allow. Though sometimes the farthest that we get is to the backyard in the sandbox. Jack loves the new sandbox and Isabella loves to put sand on Jack while in the sandbox so it works for all involved, depending on how you look at it. Nothing really new or exciting happening right now, but maybe the weekend will bring more.

Jack's check up

Jack was in for his check-up yesterday with the most wonderful Pediatrician ever! We are sad to say that we won't be seeing him anytime soon, since we are switching insurances to Kaiser, he has been our Dr for almost 13 years and seen all the children grow. We will miss Dr Thomas greatly, but will keep him in mind for any second opinions we may need.

Back to the check-up, Jack is growing quite well...22lbs 3oz, 31.5 inches tall, with a big ole head in the 90th percentile. So he is tall and slim according to the charts. Otherwise healthy and happy little guy, growing just as he should. He did enjoy a little game of "let's play in the cupboard" at the office. Climbed right on in and was very proud of himself, until we tried closing the door then he cried a little and came out. But went right back in, again and again and again.

He still isn't walking, standing on his own several times a day, cruising along everything. Crawls like his pants are on fire, usually while chasing his sisters. We aren't in any hurry for him to figure out the walking since we are certain that will only bring more destruction and mayhem.

WOW books sure make me sleepy

This is what has started happening when we read in the late afternoon! She drops off to sleep, usually throwing out some random line right before she nods off. The other day she said, "ducks have little beaks", made the sign for duck and then was out. Quite funny

A flower for Mom

Isabella and Heidi were playing with the new Play Dough and made a beautiful flower for me! Isabella was so proud she came in right when I woke up and wanted to show me the flower. It's almost as beautiful as her.

The Cake

Yes, this is the cake in the last photo, after Jack destroyed it! There was frosting flying every which way as he smashed his hands back and forth like he was trying to wipe it all off. Essencially what he did. Our once clean deck is now stained with oily frosting marks a lasting reminder of Jack's day. Notice the smiling sister who loved joining in on the fun, especially since we aren't allowed to throw food or eat cake with our hands. She had just as much fun I think

Jack's 1st Birthday Party

Here is Jack and his first birthday cake, he has had cake before and loves the frosting. This time was a wee bit different since it's his day and he had the huge cake set in front of him. He has perfect instincts...destroy the cake. You can't see the aftermath in the video but the photos afterward speak for themselves. He had a great day, with lots of family and friends to share it with. So many wonderful gifts from all of you!! Thank you, to each one of you for making his day special. We love you all

A Dress...Finally

I bought this beautiful dress for Isabella while Abigail and I were in France this Spring, this is the first time I have actually been able to get her to wear it. She prefers only legging and shorts. But she looks so wonderful, maybe I can get her to wear it again. Cross my fingers and hope

Nuts and Squirrels

Jack and his nuts, Isabella the squirrel!! A day at OMSI with Mom always leads to adventure and great photo ops. Heidi took them to play for the day earlier this month and I have been really slow at getting the pictures up to the blog...

Blowing bubbles with sister

Isabella loves bubbles and Jack isn't far behind, ever. Here they are with a new bottle of bubbles on the deck a few weeks ago.

Love of reading

Isabella has started to enjoy her books again, she will bring you a handful at a time and sit for an hour and have you read to her. It is so wonderful to have another child who loves to read! Way to go girls for sharing that with your little sister.

Little Man Sleeping

This how Jack has started falling asleep since the beginning of July. We thought he might be almost done with the Jumperoo but he has proven us wrong time and time again. He loves it!
