Jack is now 1

Jack is now officially one year old as of this last Wednesday! He had a very relaxed birthday, played in the pool and got a new truck. Today is his big party, so he is in the midst of going to sleep to rest up for the afternoon of fun, friends and cake of course.
We have had a trying week to say the least, Heidi lost her glasses and was blind for a few days until the new ones came in. She couldn't see, go to work or even enjoy the time off since she can't see close up. She is doing much better since she got the new glasses and can enjoy life again. Paige is committee chair for the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life", which has been stressing her out!! Today is the big day for her as well, she is organizing a couple of ceremonies, lunch, and her friend is singing at the event as well. All this and she is working like a little trooper at her new job. We are very proud of her.
I guess Abigail, Isabella and I have had a pretty good week though, no trauma or drama to speak of. I will post new pic's and some older ones from last week after the party.

July 4th with no fireworks??

That is just what it was for us, no big bang! Isabella, Jack and I went for a long walk, Heidi was sleeping for work and Paige and Abigail were up in Seattle at a wedding. So needless to say with a 3 year old and a almost 1 year old we did not buy any fireworks or keep them up to watch any either. I guess we can try next year for some big deal.

Isabella Walking

Isabella Moon Walking

Here is the link to the video I couldn't get it to load

Remember when...

With Jack's 1st Birthday coming up in less than a week, I have been reminicing about when Isabella was turning 1 herself. I found this little clip of her right before her birthday while looking through some old pictures on the computer and thought I would post it. I can't believe that she was ever that little, not to mention walking before her first birthday. Jack isn't even really standing alone yet, not that we are in any hurry for him to upright and mobile in that direction.

update on the fish...

So here it is only a few weeks after my first excited post on the goldfish, and we are officially not goldfish owners any longer. Apparently I have no business buying or killing the fish. I have managed to keep the Betas alive but the others have all left us and went up to Heaven. Or as Isabella recently found out they go into the toilet! Oops, Heidi forgot to flush and so Isabella "found" it. Reality isn't a bad thing for little kids. Death happens, just a lot here in our house of fish.

Isabella's Friend

This is Isabella's friend Jordan(Sophia's brother) we have many pictures of the two of them playing and holding hands like 3 year olds do!

Isabella really enjoys the Zoo and I think the Bird Show is quickly becoming her favorite. She has been several times, you can now go right up to the birds and they even have real Prey that you can pet, who doesn't like to pet RATS!

Jack and Sophia

This is Jack's little friend Sophia, he met her with Ashley and they hang out quite a bit when Ashley is home with them. They went to play at the Commons last week with their older siblings, (pictures of them to follow). They also enjoy the Zoo and OMSI together.

OneRepublic Cancellation

So this is what I woke up to today! I opened my email as I usually do and there it was looming large with the above noted subject line. Needless to day I was more than disappointed, not to mention that I now had to wake Paige up from a lovely nap(they played at the water park in Portland this afternoon in the sun) to tell her the news.

We are sorry to inform you that the One Republic show at the Roseland Theatre has been cancelled, due to illness. There is no reschedule date at this time.

A refund will be issued

Tonight is the Night

So it is here...finally!! Paige and I are going to our concert tonight to see One Republic! T-shirts will be bought, loud singing will be done, throats will be made sore from girlish screams. But be assured that we will have a wonderful time and make memories that we will talk about until we are asked to stop.

p.s. Did I mention the traditional "air mic" that will be passed back and forth today into next week whilst singing loud and poorly?

Another Long Day

After a long day at the Zoo and Playing the kids were quite tired, I had worked the night before and had only a smallish nap I went to sleep early. Here is the after math of our long day together.

As you can see there really isn't a reason to have such a large bed since we never use the whole thing. Everyone to one side always works best, since the kids must always be touching someone.

Jack and Ashley

Long Day??

I was away at work, but what I can gather from these photos is that Paige and Jack had a long evening and couldn't stay awake any longer. I will have to ask Paige about this and get the story.
