Driving the SUV of shopping carts

Very Candid pic of us going to Fred Meyer a few weeks ago, as long as you get the biggest cart the kids are more likely to hold still and let you shop for at least 10 minutes before wanting to get out and destroy the store....oh, well at least that is Jack

Playtime in the driveway

My beautiful big cheesy grinning girl riding her bike in circles
Everyone has to do their own thing when playing in the driveway! Bike riding, hiding the chalk and texting. Thank goodness Isabella doesn't have a cell phone yet.

Jack loves to play in the bean box, and Paige was lucky enough to find a pony and a brush to fix its hair.

Patient little man, waiting for the pony hair brush

Smile Jack!!
So as the weather has started to warm up, Heidi has started to get the kids outside a little more during the day. Our driveway is big enough for both of the little kids to play with chalk, ride a bike and otherwise find something to entertain themselves with for some much needed fresh air.

small update

Here is my little naughty boy!! Jack is always getting into, climbing on, or destroying something in our house....everything with a devilish smile too.
Little snugglers with a very sleepy, barely awake mommy

Isabella hugging the build a bear, kitty, that Amber (the new nanny) got her last week.

My little angels watching a preschool show I am sure!! One is a ham and the other oblivious to most things. Jack has been watching one of Isabella's preschool cartoons called Wow Wow Wubbzy, and is getting quite good at saying it as well.

New venture

Ok, so you aren't reading an advertisement! Only the newest in my brave new venture...I have taken a second job with KP to help set Paige up for college, with Heidi's support. A huge undertaking for the whole family not just for me, but with great benefits and many sacrifices too. I will be starting tonight as we open the new Cardiac Surgery Center, the first in the NW region. Wish me luck and lend your understanding if I am unavailable and perhaps spacey for the first couple weeks as I acclimate to the extra hours.

Ducks....

When I stopped for coffee last night this is what I ran into...A huge gathering of mallard ducks!! They were all hanging out waiting for a hand out I think. The one in the front of the picture actually started walking toward the truck when I was trying to take the picture. I only wish I had something to feed them.

Rainy day in the park

Last week we took the kids up to Jamison Square to play at our favorite little coffee house and found that they had turned the play room into an additional seating area for adults. More than a little disappointed we got our coffee to go and took the kids outside. They didn't have any issues playing in the rain and checking out the sculptures. They did have a problem with looking at the camera while I was trying to take a photo.

Sunrise from the window of my "office"

Another beautiful sunrise from the windows of OHSU. Makes working nights worth it every time.

Paige and Colin

Ok, I did steal this photo from Paige's Facebook, but it was too cute to pass up. Paige and Colin spent Valentine's Day at the beach in Lincoln City, and by the photos it was a beautiful Winter day there. So glad that they had such a nice time and were willing to share a couple of photos.....Thanks you two!!

Awaiting Spring, so we can play outside

We are patiently awaiting Spring...well not really. We spend Friday in the back yard picking up poooo and then attempting to mow the lawn. The mower is being cranky and probably needs a little tune up, so that is on the list of things to do this week before the sun really starts to shine and kick the grass into grow mode. Jack finally discovered that once you climb the stairs to the play structure there is a slide and its really not scary to slide down. Why on earth he couldn't figure this out when we first went outside I will never know, he had to wait until the sun had moved out of the yard and it was getting cold. Perhaps we can try again in the next couple of days and see what happens then. Today we enjoyed a little bit of the sun in the driveway playing with the dog and riding bikes, and by we I do mean Jack and Isabella. We were actually trying to clean out the garage...oh joy!! Jack had is first run in with Jonah's teeth while playing ball. Jack tossed the ball, but it went up instead of out, landed on his head and Jonah tried to catch it and nipped the corner of Jack's eye. Not to worry I think the upset lasted about 10 seconds and then they were back to playing fetch. What a trooper he is. Maybe tomorrow will be more eventful and sunny, we'll see I guess

A little walk last week...

Jack found a "twig" and decided that he should bring it along with him on our walk. What you can't see is how fast that branch got thrown aside at the sight of the balloons just ahead of him. He proceeded to scream bloody hell the rest of the way home since I wouldn't get him a balloon. I wish I could say that I understand the draw to those damn floating things, but I don't.
Everyone was happy when we arrived at Dutch Bros and got our "warm cocoa and ice cream". They didn't even complain about me stuffing them both into the jogging stroller that was made for one person. Gotta love the simplicity of being small and big rewards.

A Movie??? Yep actually saw one

Heidi and I went Sunday early afternoon to the movie, first time in several months. The movie that we saw was worth the wait, Slumdog Millionaire, was hands down one of the most heartfelt, sad and uplifting movies I have seen in quite some time. Highly recommended in my tiny little book of movies I have seen.
